388 Mercedes-Benz C111
One of the early Whizzwheel models that, apart from the wheels, could sit happily with the others in the normal range.
It is a Mazak die-cast branded model and quite unliked. The lines around headlamp panels and rear engine cover are terribly wide and ill-defined, the orange paint heavy and that doesn’t exactly help -neither the colour nor the weight!
There is a strange stick-on Mercedes badge that really doesn’t look right at all and it would so much have been improved had someone added some jewels front and back, which other models were still displaying at the time.
The gull-wing doors do open smoothly (and stay open!) And an attempt has been made to make the windows look flush with the exterior which may be why the body feels thicker than perhaps it ought to be. Inside the moulded black plastic is pretty detailed and realistic with a decent steering wheel.
This example is in very good condition, the body with just very small marks at the front but otherwise as new. Ugly it may be but you may need this to complete this era!
